Record 2.80 lakh pilgrims pay obeisance as annual Machail yatra in Kishtwar ends

Jammu: A record number of 2.80 lakh pilgrims paid obeisance during the annual Mata Machail pilgrimage that came to an end on Thursday in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Senior Superintendent of Police Kishtwar, Abdul Qayoom, announced the successful culmination of the Shri Machail Mata Yatra in the Padder area of Kishtwar district.

“This significant pilgrimage event, second only to the revered Shri Amarnath Yatra in the region, concluded on September 5 with immense religious fervour and enthusiasm,” said the officer.

“An unprecedented 2.80 lakh pilgrims paid their respects at the hallowed shrine, surpassing all previous records and marking a historic turnout,” he added.

The SSP, however, extended sincere congratulations to all Police Force, Civil Administration, CAPF, Army, and VDGs for their outstanding efforts in ensuring the safe and successful completion of the Shri Machail Mata Yatra.
