Srinagar, Nov 27: The Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) has announced that rented school buildings across the Valley will be gradually shifted to government-owned premises. Officials said the move is aimed at improving infrastructure and ensuring better facilities for students.

According to DSEK, the transition plan will prioritize schools currently operating in rented accommodations with inadequate space or poor conditions. The department has identified several locations where new government buildings are ready to be allotted.

Authorities emphasized that the initiative reflects the administration’s commitment to strengthening the education sector and providing a secure learning environment. They added that shifting schools into government-owned buildings will reduce financial burden and enhance accountability in management.

Officials further stated that the process will be carried out in phases, with coordination between district education offices and local administrations. The department has assured that no disruption to academic activities will occur during the transition.

The announcement marks a significant step in addressing long-standing concerns over rented school facilities, reinforcing the government’s resolve to improve educational infrastructure across Kashmir.
