Srinagar: PDP president Mehbooba Mufti urged the central government to initiate a fresh outreach in Kashmir, calling for a policy reset and reconciliation-driven engagement with youth and civil society. She said claims of normalcy must be matched with measures that restore dignity, address grievances, and rebuild trust through dialogue.
Mufti said public interactions reflect mounting disillusionment and urged transparent confidence-building steps, including responsive governance and sustained engagement led by top leadership. She added that a credible outreach should focus on employment, rights, and easing daily hardships, alongside ensuring accountability and communication around security and administrative decisions.
Reiterating the need for a constructive path forward, Mufti called for inclusive consultations across districts and sectors, with outcomes tied to timelines and measurable improvements in public services, mobility, and opportunities.
