Div Com reviews preparations for Mega Health Camp at Basholi

JAMMU: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, today chaired a meeting to review arrangements for the upcoming Mega Health Camp being organised by Rotary International from October 27 to 31, 2025, at Basholi.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Principal GMC Kathua, Director Health Services Jammu, and office bearers from Rotary International.

The five-day health camp aims to provide free advanced medical care and surgical services to people from marginalised and remote areas of District Kathua.

During the meeting, the Divisional Commissioner discussed the logistical and infrastructural requirements for the smooth conduct of the camp. He directed the Deputy Commissioner to ensure proper transportation, accommodation, and other facilities for the visiting specialist doctors and support staff.

The Health Department was instructed to conduct prior identification and screening of patients requiring advanced surgeries and specialised treatment, with a focus on needy and underprivileged beneficiaries.

Further, the Director Health Services and Principal GMC Kathua were asked to ensure the availability of medical equipment, paramedical staff, and technical support throughout the camp.

Dr. Dushyant informed the meeting that around 800 advanced surgeries were successfully performed during the last Mega Health Camp held in the Doda-Kishtwar region.

The Divisional Commissioner also emphasized wide publicity of the event through radio and other media platforms to ensure maximum public participation and benefit from the health services being provided.
