Rs 1.17 cr financial assistance provided to registered workers in Udhampur

 UDHAMPUR: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Saloni Rai, today released financial assistance of Rs 1,17,01,457.00  in favor of the wards of registered construction workers.

The financial assistance has been provided under the Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board schemes, covering death and funeral assistance as well as educational assistance.

The Deputy Commissioner lauded the efforts of the Labour Department in extending financial support to economically disadvantaged laborers. She emphasized the need to ensure that the maximum number of beneficiaries avail the government welfare schemes.

Stressing the government’s commitment, she stated that the economic and social security of the labour class is a top priority.

Assistant Labour Commissioner Annie Vaid highlighted the core objective of the BOCWWB scheme, which is to provide financial assistance under different components to support the livelihoods of registered construction workers. She further stated that the initiative also aims to enhance the economic potential of laborers, ensuring their financial stability.
