Mumbai: Television superstar Rupali Ganguly recently made a heartwarming gesture by fulfilling the wish of a senior citizen fan who wanted to speak to TV’s beloved Anupamaa.
The fan turned out to be actress Vrushika Mehta’s grandmother, who was overjoyed by the surprise. Sharing her happiness on social media, Vrushika penned a touching note for Rupali.
She wrote, “My Pookie Dadi! We gave her a surprise—she thought we were going to shoot a reel, so she got all conscious, wore her best saree, and got ready… and then came the surpriseee! We made her speak to Anupamaa, and though we thought she’d be nervous, dadi ne toh apne dil ki saari baat bata di!”
Expressing gratitude, Vrushika added, “Thank you so much, @rupaliganguly ma’am, for giving her your time and making her dream come true—without you, this wouldn’t have been possible.”
In the video, Vrushika’s grandmother can be seen having a heartfelt conversation with her favourite actress. When asked to choose between Anupamaa and Tulsi (from Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi), she instantly picked Anupamaa.
Rupali was seen greeting her warmly and engaging with affection and respect. Beyond her on-screen excellence, Rupali is known for her compassion towards animals. Recently, on the occasion of Navratri, she shared a touching post celebrating love and empathy for all living beings.
Featuring her pet dogs, Coffee and King Kong, the post read: “Chaturthi—Praying to Maa Kushmanda to fill every heart with kindness, compassion and love for each other and for the voiceless souls. My Coffee & King Kong are posing here because they may not speak, but they understand… and they feel everything.”
Rupali continues to use her platform to advocate for animal welfare, encouraging her followers to adopt strays, care for pets, and show kindness to all creatures.
