Mumbai: Veteran actress Saira Banu on Friday visited Maharashtra Minister Ashish Shelar’s residence for Ganpati Darshan.
She arrived in traditional attire, while actress Karisma Kapoor also attended the celebrations, looking radiant in ethnic wear.
Among the other attendees were cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, filmmaker Rohit Shetty, and actors Isha Koppikar and Fardeen Khan.
The 10-day Ganeshotsav festival, which began on August 27 with Ganesh Chaturthi (also called Vinayak Chaturthi), celebrates Lord Ganesha as the deity of new beginnings and remover of obstacles. Homes and pandals are beautifully decorated, with prayers, music, and processions marking the festivities.
This year’s celebrations will conclude on Saturday, September 6, 2025, with the traditional Ganesh Visarjan, where idols are immersed in water, symbolizing the grand farewell to Lord Ganesha.
