Sakeena Itoo carries out unannounced inspection at SDH Pattan

PATTAN: Minister for Health and Medical Education, Sakeena Itoo, today carried out a surprise inspection of Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Pattan to evaluate the healthcare facilities available for the public. Advisor to the Chief Minister, Nasir Aslam Wani, accompanied the Minister during the visit.

During the inspection, the Minister closely examined various sections of the hospital, including the OPD, casualty ward, and other critical units, as well as the drug store and pharmacy. She interacted with doctors and staff to gather detailed feedback on existing services and potential areas for improvement. Emphasizing patient care, she directed the hospital to ensure round-the-clock healthcare services, with duty rosters strictly adhered to, to prevent any inconvenience to the public.

The Minister also engaged with patients, attendants, and local residents to gain first-hand insights into the hospital’s services. Addressing the public, she stressed that the inspection is not merely procedural but reflects the government’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and patient-focused care. “Healthcare is a fundamental right, and every patient deserves timely, dignified, and effective treatment. Any lapses at the hospital will be promptly addressed,” she stated.

Further, the Minister instructed the hospital administration to promptly address identified deficiencies, maintain proper duty rosters, and ensure 24×7 service readiness for the community.
