Urges Students to Make the Most of This Opportunity for Professional Growth
SRINAGAR: Minister for Health and Medical Education, Sakeena Itoo, today flagged off a group of pre-final year MBBS students from Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar for a 15-day All India Educational Tour from the college premises.
The event was attended by Principal Dr. Iffat Hassan Shah, Administrator of Associated Hospitals Mohammad Ashraf Hakak, Heads of Departments, faculty members, doctors, and a large number of students.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Itoo emphasized that the educational tour will be a transformative experience in the academic journey of the students. She noted that it will provide exposure to diverse medical practices, advanced research environments, and interactions with leading experts from some of the country’s premier health institutions. According to her, the tour will not only expand the students’ clinical perspectives but also contribute to their holistic development as future leaders in healthcare.
The Minister highlighted that this initiative reflects the Government’s commitment to enhancing medical education by offering real-world exposure beyond traditional classroom learning. She extended her best wishes to the students and accompanying faculty, urging them to make the most of this opportunity to broaden their knowledge and experiences.

This 15-day comprehensive tour will take the students to renowned medical institutes, hospitals, and research centers across New Delhi, Kerala, Goa, and other locations. The itinerary includes academic interactions, hospital rounds, workshops, and seminars covering a wide range of medical disciplines and emerging healthcare technologies. Students will also engage with eminent researchers, observe advanced medical procedures, participate in hands-on workshops, and attend lectures on medical science innovations, public health policies, and medical ethics.
