Minister Inaugurates Two-Day PARAKH Workshop at PM Shri High School Yaroo, D.H. Pora; Distributes Regularisation Orders to CPWs
SRINAGAR: Minister for Education, Social Welfare, Health and Medical Education, Sakeena Itoo, on Thursday inaugurated a two-day educational workshop at PM Shri High School Yaroo, D.H. Pora, organized under the PARAKH (Performance Assessment, Review, and Analysis of Knowledge for Holistic Development) initiative.
In her address, the Minister reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to improving learning outcomes and strengthening the educational ecosystem across Jammu and Kashmir. She lauded the efforts of PARAKH and NCERT for their role in building teacher capacity and promoting learner-centric education practices.
Highlighting initiatives such as PARAKH, which prepare secondary school students for the World of Work (WoW), the Minister emphasized the importance of nurturing future-ready learners equipped with essential skills and competencies.
Acknowledging the dedication of teachers, Sakeena Itoo urged them to continue striving for excellence and assured that the government remains focused on ensuring quality education and enhanced infrastructure across the Union Territory.
Director General, School Education Kashmir, Dr. G.N. Itoo, also addressed the gathering, elaborating on the objectives of the PARAKH initiative and underlining the significance of vocational and trade-based training in fostering skill development among students.
During the event, the Minister inspected stalls displaying innovative student projects and distributed regularisation orders to newly appointed Contingent Paid Workers (CPWs). She informed that over 300 CPWs have been regularised under the present administration.
The workshop aimed to raise awareness among teachers, students, and education stakeholders about competency-based learning, assessment reforms, and innovative pedagogical approaches aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The programme witnessed active participation from teachers, vocational trainers, students, and education officers from various districts.
