She made these remarks while addressing the farming community at a programme organized by Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Pombay, held in conjunction with the live telecast of the launch of the Pradhan Mantri Dhan Dhaanya Krishi Yojana (PMDDKY) by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In her address, the Minister emphasized the need for greater collaboration between scientific institutions and the farming community to achieve sustainable and inclusive agricultural growth. She urged all concerned departments to extend continuous support and capacity-building assistance to farmers, enabling them to adopt the latest technologies and scientific methods for better productivity and profitability.

Referring to recent challenges faced by farmers, Sakeena Itoo expressed concern over the adverse impact of erratic weather and highway disruptions, which have caused significant losses to the agricultural community. She called upon agricultural scientists to take a proactive role in guiding farmers towards cultivating climate-resilient and high-yield crops.
