Satish Sharma Inspects Departmental Offices as Civil Secretariat Reopens in Jammu

JAMMU: On the first day of the Darbar Move at the Civil Secretariat here, Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Information Technology, Transport, Youth Services and Sports, Satish Sharma, conducted a comprehensive inspection of offices functioning under his departments.

Accompanied by senior officers, the Minister visited various sections of FCS&CA, IT, Transport, and Youth Services & Sports departments to review administrative functioning and assess readiness following the shift to the winter capital. He also evaluated the arrangements made to ensure smooth conduct of official business.

During the inspection, Sharma interacted with officers and staff, enquired about their needs, and directed them to uphold discipline, punctuality, and efficiency. Emphasizing a citizen-centric approach, he said governance must focus on prompt service delivery, accountability, and transparency.

The Minister instructed departmental heads to strengthen coordination between field offices and the Secretariat to ensure timely redressal of public grievances. He also reviewed ongoing initiatives, including the expansion of digital services under the IT Department, consumer protection efforts under FCS&CA, road safety campaigns under the Transport Department, and sports development programmes across Jammu and Kashmir.

Reaffirming the government’s commitment to efficient and responsive administration, Sharma said the reopening of the Secretariat marks the start of another productive governance session focused on accelerating welfare and infrastructure development. He urged officers to rededicate themselves to the mission of good governance and ensure that government schemes effectively reach the grassroots level.

Expressing satisfaction over the arrangements, the Minister assured that all necessary support would be extended to further strengthen departmental functioning.
