Jammu: Security forces on Wednesday launched a search operation following reports of suspicious movement in the Rajbagh sector of Kathua district in Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.
The joint operation, carried out by police and the Border Security Force (BSF), was focused on the area along the Ujh river near Jhathana village, close to the International Border.
According to officials, local residents reported sighting three suspicious individuals, one of whom was carrying a heavy backpack. Acting on this input, joint search teams began a thorough combing operation early in the morning.
So far, no suspects have been located, but footprints confirmed the presence of individuals in the area, the officials added.
The search operation was still underway when the last reports were received.
