Jammu: Security forces on Wednesday launched a search operation in a dense nursery near the International Border (IB) in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.
The operation, initiated around 3 pm, was a joint effort by the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the local police and the CRPF in the Dholka-Sanyal nursery area, located along a potential infiltration route, they added.
According to officials, the search was still ongoing at the time of the latest reports.
In March, the same nursery became the site of a major security operation when forces intercepted a group of heavily armed terrorists infiltrating from across the border. The operation ended with the killing of three Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) militants near Billawar. Four police personnel also lost their lives during the encounter.
