Srinagar: Security forces on Thursday foiled an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in Gurez sector of Bandipora district, killing two terrorists, the Army said.
According to the Srinagar-based Chinar Corps, the operation was launched jointly by the Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police following intelligence inputs about a possible infiltration bid.
Alert troops noticed suspicious movement and, when challenged, the intruders opened indiscriminate fire. The Army said its personnel retaliated effectively, killing two terrorists.
The operation is still underway, it added.
