RAJOURI, DECEMBER 09: Under the ongoing Vibrant Villages Programme (VVP-II), IAS Probationer Seerat Baji carried out a comprehensive review of developmental initiatives in Namblan, a strategically important border village. The exercise focused on ensuring that every household benefits from central and UT schemes while strengthening essential infrastructure.
The review opened with an assessment of the education sector. The Officer examined pupil–teacher ratios, highlighted the need for academic improvements, and discussed the proposal to upgrade the Government High School. She directed officials to prioritise infrastructure enhancement to improve learning outcomes.
Health facilities at the Health Sub Centre Dhara Sangla were also taken up, with instructions to upgrade services in line with VVP guidelines. Departments including FCS&CA and Veterinary Services were asked to ensure uninterrupted supply of essential commodities and routine veterinary care.
Agriculture and Horticulture concerns were reviewed in detail, with emphasis on irrigation facilities, timely availability of inputs, and tackling the growing monkey menace. Officers were tasked with preparing feasibility reports for a check dam to meet local irrigation needs.
In her review of the Cooperative Department, the Officer underlined the importance of expanding cooperative societies to maximise benefits for villagers. Under the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM), she set a target of registering at least ten new Self Help Groups within the next month.
The functioning of seven Anganwadi Centres, youth engagement activities, and preparations under Youth Services & Sports were also evaluated. Stressing the effective rollout of Mission YUVA, she directed departments to coordinate with banks to ensure timely payments to youth beneficiaries.
The review further covered electricity connections for left-out households and the performance of the Rural Engineering Wing, with instructions to ensure timely and quality execution of development works.
