RAJOURI: As part of the ongoing Vigilance Awareness Week, the NSS Unit of Government P.G. College Rajouri, in collaboration with the Departments of Sociology and Political Science, organized a seminar on the theme “Perils of Corruption” in the College Conference Hall.
Held under the esteemed patronage of Prof. Zameer Ahmed Mirza, Principal of the College, the seminar aimed to raise awareness among students about the adverse effects of corruption on society and to promote the values of integrity, transparency, and accountability among the youth.
The programme was coordinated by Dr. Murtaza Ahmed, Head of the Department of Political Science, and Khaleeq Qazi, NSS Programme Officer. The session commenced with a welcome address by Antima Gupta (NSS Programme Officer), who extended a warm welcome to the dignitaries, faculty members, and students while outlining the objectives of the seminar.
During the technical session, faculty members from the Departments of Sociology and Political Science shared their insights on various dimensions of corruption and its deep-rooted impact on socio-economic development. They emphasized the significance of moral values, civic responsibility, and the proactive role of youth in curbing corruption at all levels of society.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Zakir, who expressed gratitude to the Principal, coordinators, faculty members, and students for their active participation and support, making the seminar a meaningful and enlightening experience.
Overall, the seminar, organized under Vigilance Awareness Week, served as a thought-provoking platform to inspire young minds to uphold honesty and integrity as fundamental principles in both personal and public life.
