Senior IPS officer Satish Golcha named as Delhi’s 26th Police Commissioner

NEW DELHI: Senior IPS officer Satish Golcha has been appointed as the 26th Commissioner of Delhi Police, the Ministry of Home Affairs announced on Thursday.

A 1992-batch officer, Golcha succeeds SBK Singh, who had been holding additional charge of Commissioner since July 31 following the retirement of Sanjay Arora.

Before this appointment, Golcha was serving as Director General of Tihar Jail, a post he assumed on May 1, 2024.

Over his career, he has held several key positions including Special Commissioner of Police (Law and Order), Special Commissioner (Intelligence), and DGP of Arunachal Pradesh. He has also served as DCP and Joint CP in Delhi Police.
