Shafali Verma returns to top 10 in T20I rankings

Dubai: India’s explosive opener Shafali Verma has stormed back into the top 10 of the ICC Women’s T20I batting rankings, climbing four spots to secure the ninth position with 655 rating points. The latest rankings, released on Tuesday, reflect her stellar performance in the recently concluded T20I series against England, where she amassed 176 runs at an impressive strike rate of 158.56.

Vice-captain Smriti Mandhana remains the highest-ranked Indian batter at No. 3, while Jemimah Rodrigues slipped two places to 14th.

All-rounder Arundhati Reddy, a key player in India’s 3-2 series triumph, made significant gains—rising four spots to 39th in the bowling rankings and soaring 26 places to 80th among all-rounders.

Among bowlers, Deepti Sharma dropped one spot to third, while left-arm spinner Radha Yadav moved up three positions to claim the 15th spot.

England’s players also saw a rankings boost. Spinner Charlie Dean broke into the top 10 in bowling, jumping eight spots to share sixth place with Nashra Sandhu and Georgia Wareham, following her ‘Player of the Match’ effort in the final game. Linsey Smith climbed nine places to 38th, Issy Wong advanced seven spots to 50th, and Emily Arlott improved 15 places to reach 67th.

With 151 runs in the series, England’s top scorer Sophia Dunkley moved up to 19th in the batting rankings, gaining seven points. Tammy Beaumont continued her upward trend, climbing 19 spots to reach 45th.
