Mumbai: After hits like Kaminey, Haider and Rangoon, Shahid Kapoor and filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj are reuniting for a new project titled O Romeo. The film also stars Tripti Dimri and is set for a Valentine’s Day release.
The makers unveiled the title and release date on Instagram, with Bhardwaj writing:
“Aa raha hai… #ORomeo… this Valentine’s Day. Presented by #SajidNadiadwala @shahidkapoor @tripti_dimri @iamnanapatekar @manujmittra @nadiadwalagrandson @wardakhannadiadwala.”
Billed as an action thriller, the film also features Nana Patekar, Farida Jalal, Avinash Tiwary, Disha Patani, and others.
Back on August 31, Shahid had teased the project by posting a behind-the-scenes black-and-white photo with Bhardwaj, hinting at a “madly different character.”
Sharing his excitement after wrapping up the shoot, Shahid wrote:
“My 4th collaboration with this special man @vishalrbhardwaj. Excitement levels are off the charts. As always, it’s a new world and a madly different character for me. A titular part from him for the 3rd time — I was one of the Kaminey, I was Haider and now I am…”
He went on to praise his co-stars, calling his time with Tripti Dimri “a total blast,” lauding Nana Patekar for “layered scenes,” and appreciating the warmth of Farida Jalal. He also mentioned fun moments with Avinash Tiwary, Hussain Dalal, and Disha Patani, with whom he shot two songs.
O Romeo is produced by Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment and directed by Vishal Bhardwaj. The film hits theatres on Valentine’s Day 2026.
