Shopian Police Attach Property Valued Over ₹15 Lakh Under NDPS Act

Srinagar: In a continued crackdown on narcotics-related activities, Jammu and Kashmir Police have attached a single-storey residential house worth ₹15,44,523 in Meemander, Shopian. The property, measuring 1,258 sq. ft. under Survey No. 498 min, belongs to Mukhtar Ahmad Naikoo, a resident of the area.

According to officials, the house was found to have been acquired using proceeds from the sale of illegal drugs. Naikoo has been previously booked in multiple NDPS cases, including FIR No. 41/2016 and FIR No. 27/2020 registered at Police Station Shopian.

The attachment was carried out in the presence of an Executive Magistrate, Lambardar, Chowkidar, and a police team, ensuring adherence to all legal procedures, officials said.

Police reaffirmed their commitment to combating the drug menace and urged the public to share any information related to narcotics activities in their areas.
