NEW DELHI: Astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla and three crewmates from the Axiom-4 commercial mission are set to return to Earth on Tuesday, with a scheduled splashdown off the coast of San Diego, California. The re-entry will mark the end of their 18-day mission aboard the International Space Station and a 22.5-hour return journey.
The Dragon spacecraft ‘Grace’, carrying Shukla, mission commander Peggy Whitson, and mission specialists Slawosz Uznanski-Wisniewski from Poland and Tibor Kapu from Hungary, undocked from the ISS at 4:45 pm IST on Monday.
“Dragon and the @Axiom_Space Ax-4 crew are on track to reenter Earth’s atmosphere and splash down off the coast of San Diego at ~2:31 am PT tomorrow (3:01 pm IST, Tuesday),” SpaceX announced in a post on X.
