Srinagar, Dec 5: The State Investigation Agency (SIA) on Thursday carried out coordinated raids in Srinagar’s Batamaloo area and in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district in connection with FIR No. 03/2025 registered at the SIA/CIK Police Station, officials said.
The case relates to an investigation into the circulation and pasting of posters of banned terrorist organisations in the Nowgam area of Srinagar earlier this year. Officials said the posters carried messaging attributed to proscribed outfits and were intended to create fear, intimidate residents, and amplify separatist narratives.
According to investigators, the case was initially filed at Police Station Nowgam as Video No. 162/2025 before being transferred to the SIA for specialised investigation due to its links with anti-national propaganda networks.
Teams of SIA personnel, assisted by local police, conducted early-morning searches at multiple residential and commercial premises. Digital devices, documents, and other materials suspected to have been used in the creation, printing, or distribution of the posters were seized for forensic analysis.
Officials said the raids are aimed at exposing the larger network involved in the dissemination of the material and identifying individuals who may have facilitated or directed the activity. Further details are awaited as the investigation continues.
