SRINAGAR: The Special Intelligence Unit (SIU)-II Srinagar on Tuesday presented a charge sheet before the Special Designated NIA Court Srinagar against a terrorist associate and a terrorist.
In its backdrop, the case was registered on 10th of January 2023 after one scooterist was stopped for checking by a police party at a checkpoint at Regal Chowk Srinagar. The police party found the person identified as Farzan Ferooz son of Ferooz Ahmed Mir, resident of Frestibal Pampore transporting objectionable items with him in a blue bag on scooter and could not give any justification for carrying said items etc.
Accordingly, a case FIR number 02/2023 under relevant Sections of law was registered at Police Station Kothibagh and investigation was set into motion.
During the course of investigation, it was found that the said person was transporting the objectionable items including contraband heroin, Indian currency cash Rs 9,50,000 and LeT outfit letter pad pages /matrix sheet at the instance of LeT operating from Pakistan Owais Ahmed Mir in order to conduct terrorist activities in J&K.
The investigation also revealed that, one motorcycle (Pulsar 200) bearing registration number JK13H-2452 was found utilising in terrorist activities. Accordingly, the said motorcycle was attached under Section 25 UA (P) Act.
During further course of investigation, the search of absconding accused person was conducted and it was found that the said accused person identified as Owais Ferooz son of Ferooz Ahmed Mir, resident of Frestibal Pampore, presently in Pakistan is concealing himself in order to avoid arrest in the cases registered against him.
The report in this connection has been submitted to the court for initiation of proclamation proceedings against the accused person so that proceedings under Sections 82 & 83 CRPC could be initiated.
