Jammu: The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday announced the successful resolution of two separate murder cases in the region with the arrest of six suspects, including five members of a family and a foreign national from Myanmar.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu, Joginder Singh, said that in the first case, a man identified as Narinder Singh died after being assaulted during a scuffle over a trivial issue in the Miran Sahib area on October 9.
Police swiftly apprehended the prime accused, Tanveer Singh, and his brother Bavneet Singh. Subsequent investigations led to the arrest of their father Ranjeet Singh, mother Amrit Kour, and sister Kanwal Preet, the SSP added.
In the second case, police solved the murder of a minor boy, whose body was found on October 10 in the Sunjwan-Gaziabad area of Bathindi.
The victim’s father, Abdul Gafoor, suspected Mansoor Alam, a Myanmar national, of involvement in the killing. Alam had allegedly threatened the family after his marriage proposal for Gafoor’s daughter was rejected.
Police arrested Alam, who later confessed to the crime during interrogation, the SSP said.
