Srinagar, November 16: Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) has announced a strategic partnership with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) to expand tele-services across Jammu and Kashmir. The initiative, confirmed by the Director of SKIMS, aims to strengthen digital healthcare delivery and improve patient access to specialized medical consultations.

According to the Director, the collaboration will leverage BSNL’s extensive communication infrastructure to support telemedicine, remote diagnostics, and digital health monitoring. This partnership is expected to reduce patient travel burdens, enhance efficiency in medical services, and ensure timely interventions for critical cases.

Highlighting the importance of technology in healthcare, SKIMS emphasized that the project aligns with national efforts to integrate digital solutions into public health systems. The Director noted that the partnership will serve as a model for other institutions seeking to bridge healthcare gaps through telecommunication networks.
