A student-led startup from SKUAST-Kashmir has secured a grant-in-aid of ₹5 lakh to support its innovative project, marking a significant achievement for the university’s growing entrepreneurial ecosystem. The funding was awarded under an innovation support program aimed at encouraging young talent to develop solutions with practical value and social impact.
Officials from SKUAST-K said the grant reflects the strong research culture and startup-friendly environment nurtured within the institution. They added that the student team’s idea stood out for its originality, feasibility and potential to contribute to agricultural development.
The selected startup will utilise the ₹5 lakh support to further develop, refine and test its innovation. Mentorship and technical guidance will also be provided throughout the project period to help the team scale its work.
University authorities congratulated the students and emphasised that such accomplishments motivate others to explore entrepreneurship and innovation. They reiterated SKUAST-K’s commitment to strengthening incubation facilities, research support and funding opportunities for young innovators.
