SMC hosts the grand culmination of “Sewa Parv 2025” at Jhelum River Front, Rajbagh

SRINAGAR: The Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) today concluded Sewa Parv 2025 with a grand culmination ceremony at the picturesque Jhelum River Front, Rajbagh. The event saw enthusiastic participation from citizens, officials, self-help groups, and community organizations, all of whom played an active role throughout the fortnight-long civic campaign.

Over the past two weeks, SMC undertook a wide range of initiatives aimed at building a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable Srinagar. Activities included citywide plantation drives, large-scale sanitation and cleanliness campaigns, awareness programs on waste segregation and solid waste management, housing scheme awareness camps, streetlight repair drives, and special sanitation operations across all wards.

These initiatives witnessed strong engagement from residents, students, civil society groups, and local communities, reflecting a shared sense of civic responsibility and collective ownership.

Speaking at the event, Nuzhat Qureshi, Joint Commissioner (Administration), SMC, thanked the people of Srinagar for their wholehearted support. She remarked, “Sewa Parv has reinforced our belief that civic responsibility is a shared duty. The collective efforts of our citizens have not only beautified the city but also strengthened the sense of belonging and ownership. Initiatives like these show that positive change is possible when the community and administration work hand in hand.”

The culmination ceremony featured a felicitation segment recognizing the contributions of ward officers, frontline sanitation staff, and community groups. Cultural performances, thematic exhibitions, and displays highlighted the journey, milestones, and achievements of Sewa Parv 2025. A key moment of the event was the Swachhata Pledge, taken collectively by officials, citizens, and participants, reaffirming their commitment to cleanliness, sustainability, and active civic engagement.

The occasion was festive, engaging, and inspiring for all attendees. With the conclusion of Sewa Parv 2025, SMC reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining community-driven efforts, enhancing civic services, and expanding participatory initiatives that empower citizens and shape a progressive urban future for Srinagar.
