JAMMU: An army soldier was killed in an accidental grenade explosion in Poonch district, Jammu and Kashmir, on Monday evening, officials reported.
The incident occurred around 7:45 pm in the Surankote area while the soldier was on sentry duty at a post inside a camp. The grenade reportedly detonated due to mishandling, they said.
The trooper was declared dead at the spot.
