Africa hosted its first-ever G20 Summit on Thursday, marking a historic moment as leaders from across the world gathered on the continent for high-level deliberations.

In a strong and unified message, African nations urged wealthier countries to step up support for combating climate-driven disasters that continue to disproportionately impact developing regions.

Leaders emphasized the urgent need for fair financing, technology transfer, and global cooperation, noting that African communities—despite contributing the least to global emissions—bear some of the heaviest consequences.

The summit concluded with renewed calls for climate justice and inclusive global decision-making.
