Srinagar: The Special Crime Wing Srinagar (Crime Branch) on Monday conducted searches at several locations in Ganderbal district in connection with a case registered under FIR No. 23/2024 U/S 302 IPC.
According to an official statement, the raids were carried out at the residences of Mohammad Afzal Sheikh and Farooq Ahmad Sheikh, sons of Ghulam Qadir Sheikh, residents of Bonzila, Haripora, Ganderbal. Another location raided was the house of Wajid Rasool Dar, son of Ghulam Rasool Dar, a resident of Haripora, Ganderbal.
The searches were conducted under court-issued warrants, with the presence of a Duty Magistrate and assistance from the local police.
Police said the case was initially registered at Police Station Ganderbal but was later transferred to the Special Crime Wing Srinagar for investigation by the J&K Police Headquarters. Further investigation is in progress.
