Chief Minister Omar Abdullah expressed deep concern over the growing sense of suspicion and mistrust faced by Kashmiris in various parts of the country, stating that many now hesitate to drive their own cars in Delhi due to fear of being viewed with suspicion. He said this atmosphere not only creates emotional distress but also undermines the essence of unity and mutual respect that the nation stands for.

The Chief Minister noted that recent incidents and stereotyping have contributed to an environment where ordinary citizens from Jammu and Kashmir feel targeted or unfairly judged. He stressed that such perceptions must be addressed urgently to prevent further alienation and ensure that Kashmiris can move freely and safely across the country without prejudice.

Calling for collective responsibility, the Chief Minister urged both the public and authorities to work towards fostering trust and inclusivity. He said it is essential to reinforce the message that people from every region, including Jammu and Kashmir, are equal stakeholders in the nation’s progress and deserve dignity, safety and respect wherever they go.
