KATHUA, Dec 4: Security forces today carried out a joint search operation along the International Border (IB) in Kathua district, following intelligence inputs about suspicious movement in the area. The operation was conducted by the Border Security Force (BSF) in coordination with local police and other agencies to ensure enhanced vigilance along sensitive stretches of the border.
Officials said the search was aimed at detecting any infiltration attempts or illegal activities across the border. Troops combed villages and border belts, checking vulnerable points and strengthening security measures to prevent any breach. The operation also involved deployment of sniffer dogs and surveillance equipment to assist in the search.
Authorities confirmed that the exercise was part of routine security drills undertaken to maintain high alertness along the IB, especially in view of recent reports of cross-border movement. They added that no untoward incident was reported during the operation, and the situation remains under control.
Senior officers reiterated that joint operations are crucial for maintaining coordination among different security agencies and for ensuring the safety of border residents. They assured that security forces are fully prepared to respond to any challenge and that regular monitoring will continue in the coming days.
