Renewable energy solutions provider Suzlon on Wednesday announced plans to transition its entire vehicular fleet to electric mobility by 2035.

Following its commitment to power all facilities with 100% renewable energy by 2030, Suzlon is taking another significant step in its sustainability journey by joining the EV100 initiative led by the Climate Group.

Under this initiative, Suzlon aims to electrify its full fleet of 655 vehicles—including both owned and leased vehicles in the 3.5T and 3.5–7.5T categories—by 2035. This move is expected to reduce carbon emissions, lower fuel consumption, and support India’s path toward Net Zero.

The EV100 initiative brings together global companies committed to accelerating the adoption of electric vehicles and making electric transport mainstream by 2030. For Suzlon, this transition directly targets a reduction in Scope 1 emissions, generated from direct sources such as its vehicular fleet, in line with the company’s ESG commitments for 2035.

Suzlon is the first Indian renewable energy company to join EV100, highlighting its leadership in climate action within the sector. These measures form key milestones in Suzlon’s broader decarbonisation strategy, which includes achieving net zero Scope 1 emissions by 2035.

Headquartered at Suzlon One Earth in Pune, Suzlon Group is a leading global renewable energy solutions provider with over 21 GW of installed wind energy capacity across 17 countries. The Group comprises Suzlon Energy and its subsidiaries and operates as a vertically integrated organisation with R&D centres in Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, and India, along with world-class manufacturing facilities across India.

Its installed capacity includes 15.2 GW in India and an additional ~6 GW internationally.
