“Talent clearly runs in the family,” Akshay Kumar applauds Priyadarshan’s daughter Kalyani for her performance in Lokah – Chapter 1

Mumbai: Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has showered praise on Kalyani Priyadarshan for her performance in Lokah – Chapter One: Chandra.

The film, which has been receiving positive reviews from critics and audiences alike, is set to release in Hindi on Thursday, September 4.

Ahead of the Hindi version’s release, Akshay Kumar took to his official social media handle to applaud Kalyani’s acting skills while also acknowledging her father, filmmaker Priyadarshan.

“Talent runs in the family… suna thaa, ab dekh liya! Hearing wonderful things about the brilliant acting of @kalyanipriyan, Priyadarshan Sir’s daughter. My best wishes to her and the entire team of #Lokah on their Hindi version release. More power,” he wrote on X.

Akshay and Priyadarshan have shared a successful partnership over the years, collaborating on hit films like Hera Pheri, Garam Masala, Bhagam Bhag, and Bhool Bhulaiyaa. The duo recently reunited for the horror-comedy Bhooth Bangla, marking their first big-screen collaboration in 15 years.

The film also stars Wamiqa Gabbi, Tabu, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, and Asrani, among others. Akshay also has another Priyadarshan project, Haiwaan, in the works, co-starring Saif Ali Khan.

Celebrities including Ishaan Khatter, Rashmika Mandanna, and Sharvari have joined in celebrating Lokah – Chapter One: Chandra, sharing their support for the film.

Produced under Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer Films banner, the movie is written and directed by Dominic Arun. It features Kalyani Priyadarshan as a female superhero, with Sandy portraying the lead antagonist. Naslen, Chandu Salimkumar, and Arun Kurian also play significant roles.

On Tuesday, Dulquer Salmaan announced the Hindi release date, saying, “The world of Lokah – Chapter One: Chandra is expanding. Hindi version releases in theatres on September 4th!”

The film originally premiered in theatres on August 28, 2025.
