UDHAMPUR: One person was killed and several others injured after a tempo overturned near Celebration Hall, Battal Ballian, on the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) on Thursday.
According to officials, the vehicle was traveling from Jammu to Udhampur around 4:30 AM when it lost control and flipped, injuring multiple passengers.
All the injured were immediately taken to Government Medical College (GMC) Udhampur for treatment. One of them, identified as Shakeel (40), son of Irshad from Punia, Bihar, succumbed to his injuries, officials confirmed.
The police have registered the case and are investigating the incident further.
