JAMMU: In Kishtwar district, authorities on Sunday constructed a temporary wooden bridge to aid the movement of tribal families stranded due to recent heavy rains, officials said.
All wooden bridges in the Faridabad area of Marwah were washed away during the downpour, leaving several nomadic Bakerwal families stranded after spending the summer months in the region, an official spokesperson said.
With no route available to return, the families urgently sought assistance. Responding swiftly, the forest department built a temporary wooden bridge, restoring crucial connectivity and enabling the safe return of the stranded families, the spokesperson added.
