Jammu: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday said that terrorism is the biggest obstacle to development, asserting that security forces are relentlessly working to eliminate the threat and will continue their efforts. He emphasised, however, that society also has a duty to stand up against this menace.

Speaking at a special convocation at the University of Jammu, the LG stressed the need for a collective fight against terrorism. He paid tribute to those who lost their lives in Monday’s Delhi blast and offered condolences to their families.

“Terrorism is the enemy of development. The people of Jammu and Kashmir have endured its impact for decades, yet the youth of this region continue to aspire and dream big. Their wings can take them as far as the youth across the country and the world,” Sinha said.

He added that society must also play its role. “Those who fail to rise are left behind. Any narrative that seeks to justify or sympathise with terrorism must be exposed,” he said.
