Rajouri, Dec 4: Thanamandi Police Station in Rajouri district has been ranked the best police station in Jammu and Kashmir and 14th nationally in the Ministry of Home Affairs’ annual survey. The recognition comes as a result of the station’s consistent commitment to public service, effective crime management, and proactive community outreach initiatives.
The survey, conducted by the Ministry of Home Affairs, evaluates police stations across the country on parameters such as infrastructure, crime prevention, grievance redressal, and public satisfaction. Thanamandi Police Station’s performance stood out, earning it a place among the top-ranked stations nationwide.
Station House Officer (SHO) Hilal Azhar has been widely praised for his leadership and dedication, which played a crucial role in achieving this distinction. Under his guidance, the station has implemented several measures to strengthen community-police relations, improve response times, and ensure transparency in handling cases.
Officials noted that the recognition reflects the broader efforts of the Jammu and Kashmir Police to modernise policing and enhance public trust.
