NEW DELHI: The 2026 T20 World Cup is expected to take place from February 7 to March 8, with matches scheduled across at least five venues in India and two in Sri Lanka. The final will be held either in Ahmedabad or Colombo, depending on Pakistan’s position in the tournament. Under an agreement between the ICC and BCCI, Pakistan will play all their games in Sri Lanka.

The ICC has identified the tournament window and shared it with member boards, although the full schedule is yet to be finalised, according to ESPNCricinfo.

The tournament will follow the same format as the 2024 T20 World Cup in the West Indies and the USA, with 20 teams divided into four groups of five, followed by a Super Eight stage and the semifinals.

Italy has earned its maiden World Cup berth, joining 15 confirmed teams — defending champions India, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, South Africa, USA, West Indies, New Zealand, Pakistan, Ireland, Canada, and the Netherlands. Two additional teams will qualify from the Africa qualifiers, and three more from the Asia and East Asia Pacific qualifiers.
