Three held with heroin in Udhampur-Reasi drug bust

Jammu: The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday arrested three drug peddlers and recovered heroin from two separate locations in Udhampur and Reasi districts, officials said.

According to a police spokesperson, Sahil Singh, a resident of Mand, and Amir Bashir Bhat of Kulgam were apprehended at Rehambal along the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway in Udhampur district. Police recovered 5.26 grams and 3.52 grams of heroin from their possession during vehicle checks.

In a separate incident, Kaka Ram, a resident of Aghar Jitto village, was arrested near Nomain, close to Katra in Reasi district. He was found carrying 2.6 grams of heroin while riding a motorcycle from Jammu towards Katra, the spokesman said.

Police have registered three separate cases against the accused under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, the spokesman added.
