Rajouri, Nov 30: Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, Jammu (SKUAST-J) organised a mega animal clinical camp in Rajouri district, bringing vital veterinary services to tribal farmers and their livestock.
Officials said the camp was held under the outreach programme of the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences, providing free treatment, vaccination, and health check-ups for cattle, sheep, and goats. Farmers also received guidance on scientific livestock management, disease prevention, and nutrition practices.
Senior faculty members and veterinary doctors from SKUAST-J attended the camp, examining hundreds of animals and distributing medicines. The initiative was aimed at improving animal health and boosting productivity, particularly in tribal and rural areas where access to veterinary care is limited.
Local farmers expressed gratitude for the services, noting that the camp helped address long-standing issues of livestock diseases and poor veterinary access. They said such initiatives strengthen livelihoods and contribute to food security in the region.
Authorities added that SKUAST-J will continue to hold similar camps across Jammu and Kashmir to extend veterinary support and promote sustainable livestock practices.
