Srinagar: The Special Crime Wing of the Crime Branch Kashmir has filed a chargesheet against two individuals accused of deceiving job seekers by promising them government employment in return for money.

The chargesheet, related to FIR No. 19/2023, was submitted before the Court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Kulgam. According to an official spokesperson, the case has been filed under Sections 419, 420, and 120-B of the Ranbir Penal Code (RPC).

The case began after a written complaint alleged that the accused had fraudulently taken large sums of money from job aspirants by assuring them government jobs. Following the complaint, a preliminary inquiry was initiated by the Special Crime Wing.

During the investigation, it was found that the accused individuals had dishonestly lured the complainants with false job promises and extracted their money through fraudulent means. One of the accused had even impersonated a Kashmiri migrant to gain the victims’ trust, the investigation revealed.

Based on the evidence collected, offences under Sections 419 (cheating by personation), 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property), and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) RPC were established. The chargesheet has now been placed before the court for further judicial proceedings.

The Crime Branch Kashmir urged the public to stay vigilant against job-related frauds and to promptly report any such activities to law enforcement agencies.
