Two Arrested with 43g Heroin-Like Substance in Sunderbani

Rajouri, December — A police team from Police Station Sunderbani, led by the Station House Officer (SHO), intercepted a Hyundai car bearing registration number JK02CT-5786 during routine naka checking on the Jammu–Rajouri road.

The vehicle, which was travelling from Jammu towards Rajouri, was found to be carrying two persons identified as Shahzad Shabir, son of Saleem Raza, resident of Ward No. 4, Poonch, and Farooq Ahmed, son of Abdul Rashid, resident of Ward No. 8, Rajouri.

During a personal search of the occupants, the police recovered 43 grams of a heroin-like narcotic substance from their possession.

In this connection, a case FIR No. 78/2025 under relevant sections of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Sunderbani. Both the accused have been arrested and the vehicle involved in the offence has been seized.

Further investigation is underway to trace the forward and backward linkages of the arrested persons and to identify other individuals involved in drug trafficking.

Rajouri Police reiterated its commitment to take strict action against drug peddling and urged the general public to cooperate by sharing information related to drug trafficking in the district.
