In a major crackdown on drug trafficking the Rajouri Police apprehended two accused with possession of 88 Grams of Cannabis (charas) like narcotics substance during Patrolling near Mehra Morh Khandli Rajouri.
On 07.04.2024 Police Team of Police Station Rajouri was on routine patrolling and when the Police Party reached near Mehra Morh khandli Rajouri, they intercepted one vehicle scooty which was without number plate and was on its way from Kotdhara to Rajouri. Two individuals were found sitting on the said vehicle.
During their personal search police recovered charas like narcotics substance weighing 88 grams from their possession.
During questioning the accused identified themselves as:
1. Mohd Asif S/O Mohd Farooq R/O ward no. 02 Bhella Rajouri (driver)
2. Sameena Jameel Sheikh @Simmi D/O Jameel Sheikh R/O Malik Market Rajouri.
In this regard a case FIR No. 182/2025 under relevant sections of NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Rajouri. Both the accused were arrested on the spot and the recovered contraband has been seized as evidence.
Further investigation is underway to trace the backward and forward linkages of the drug network.
