Itanagar, 11 December 2025: Arunachal Pradesh Police have arrested two men from Jammu and Kashmir for allegedly engaging in espionage activities on behalf of handlers based in Pakistan.
According to police, Nazir Ahmad Malik and Sabir Ahmed Mir were picked up during separate operations from Ganga Village and Abotani Colony in Itanagar. Preliminary investigation indicates that both men are residents of Kupwara district in Jammu and Kashmir.
Police sources said the duo had been tracking and documenting Army movement and locations in parts of Arunachal Pradesh. The information was reportedly transmitted to Pakistan-based handlers through a Telegram channel.
Electronic devices and other material have been seized from their possession, which are being examined by technical teams. Officials said the evidence may provide further insight into the extent of their activities and connections.
A case has been registered under relevant provisions related to national security, and further investigation is underway to determine the scope of information shared and identify additional individuals linked to the network.
