Srinagar: Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh on Monday stated that authorities are working urgently to clear the blockade on the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway at Thard and Bali Nalah in Udhampur.

In a post on X, Dr. Singh said that with the weather improving, NHAI teams are working round the clock to restore traffic. “Hopefully by late evening, it may be possible to resume traffic movement,” he added.

He also mentioned that, due to the lack of road connectivity beyond Udhampur, special arrangements have been made for transporting essential supplies. A newly introduced local passenger train is running between Katra and Ramban Sangaldan, facilitating the movement of these essentials.

“These supplies can then be transported by road to Doda and Kishtwar districts,” the minister said, assuring that continuous efforts are underway to restore normal traffic on the highway.
