New Delhi, Dec 02: The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has recorded 231 crore Aadhaar authentication transactions in November 2025, marking an 8.47 percent year-on-year growth. Officials said this is the highest monthly tally of the current financial year, reflecting the expanding role of Aadhaar in India’s digital economy.
According to the Ministry of Electronics & IT, the surge was driven by increased use of face authentication and e-KYC services. More than 47 crore e-KYC transactions were carried out in November, registering over 24 percent growth compared to last year. Face authentication also gained traction, supporting nearly 60 percent of digital life certificates.
UIDAI emphasized that Aadhaar continues to serve as the country’s digital backbone, enabling secure access to welfare schemes, financial services, pensions, telecom facilities, and voluntary consumer applications. The authority also confirmed that 2 crore Aadhaar numbers of deceased individuals were deactivated to prevent fraud and maintain database accuracy.
Officials noted that the steady rise in Aadhaar usage demonstrates its growing importance in everyday transactions and its role in strengthening India’s digital governance framework.
