Jammu: Union Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Nimuben Jayantibhai Bambhaniya, on Saturday reaffirmed that the Narendra Modi-led government stands firmly with the flood-affected people of Jammu and Kashmir and will ensure their relief and rehabilitation without delay.
On the second day of her two-day tour of Jammu division, the minister visited the flood-hit areas of Nai Basti to assess damage caused by recent heavy rains. She also inspected the situation in the border belt of Pargwal in Akhnoor, where public property and commercial establishments suffered extensive losses.
“The Modi government is fully aware of the hardships faced by the people due to the floods and the damage to life and property. The Centre stands with the people of Jammu and Kashmir in this time of crisis,” Bambhaniya said.

She added that, under the guidance of Prime Minister Modi, Union ministers are visiting every corner of the affected areas to review the ground situation and ensure timely rehabilitation measures. “People have great expectations and faith in the Modi government, and we will leave no stone unturned in providing assistance,” she assured.
Appreciating the resilience of the people of Pargwal, Bambhaniya noted that the border residents face the twin challenges of cross-border shelling and recurring floods from the Chenab river. “Yet, their courage and trust in the government inspire us all,” she said, while also commending the BSF personnel for their round-the-clock efforts in maintaining normalcy in the region.
