Vadodara, Dec 02: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has described Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel as an enduring inspiration for every political leader, highlighting his unmatched contribution to national unity and governance. Addressing the ‘Sardar Gatha’ programme at Sadli village in Vadodara, Singh said Patel’s leadership continues to guide India’s political values and institutions.

“Sardar Patel was the architect of a united India. He successfully integrated the Princely States into the Union, a task that seemed impossible at the time. His vision and courage remain a source of inspiration for all of us in public life,” Rajnath Singh remarked.

The Defence Minister noted that Patel’s emphasis on honesty and credibility in politics is particularly relevant today. “When political leadership was losing credibility among people, our government accepted the challenge and regained their faith by following Sardar Patel’s values,” he added.

Singh also credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for reviving Patel’s legacy, especially through the construction of the Statue of Unity and initiatives marking Patel’s 150th birth anniversary. He said these efforts reflect the government’s commitment to honouring Patel’s ideals of integrity and national service.

Officials present at the event emphasized that Patel’s life and work continue to inspire civic responsibility, unity, and dedication to the nation. The programme was part of the ongoing ‘Rashtriya Padyatra’ commemorating the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
